Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting Brusca Brewpub in Manacor, Mallorca—and it’s more than just a brewery, it’s a story of passion.
Brusca was founded in 2020 by Miguel, a winemaker who started as a home brewer, and Neus, a biotechnology and fermentation expert. Together, they turned their love for brewing into something bigger—transforming an old windmill into one of Mallorca’s most inspiring brewpubs.
The name “Brusca” comes from a Catalan dialect word meaning “rain falling in small drops”—a beautiful metaphor for patience, growth, and passion.
What stood out to me was Miguel’s approach:
- He works with Weyermann malts, carefully chosen for infusion brewing.
- Leftover grains don’t go to waste—they’re given to local animals, closing the circle in a sustainable way.
- Brusca beers are also available in selected restaurants across Mallorca, connecting more people with his craft.
Inside the venue, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The space is thoughtfully designed, with room to relax inside and a terrace that feels perfect for gathering with friends. You’re never far from the brewing tanks, which makes it feel alive with creativity.
At the bar, you’ll find eight beers on tap — all brewed in-house — so there’s always something new to discover.
The community feeling is strong. Brusca collaborates with breweries like Jopen, always experimenting and releasing new beers. In a time when several Mallorcan breweries have sadly closed, Brusca feels like a bright spot, keeping the craft beer spirit alive.
Looking ahead, Miguel and Neus don’t measure success in numbers. For them, the vision is simple:
In five years, we just want it to still be fun—for local people, maybe in another place too.
That sums it up perfectly: Brusca is about passion first, business second. Always new beers, always something fresh to taste, and always with the community at heart.
If you’re visiting Mallorca, make time for Brusca. Come for the beer, stay for the atmosphere, and leave with a taste of local creativity.
